Founded in 1970, ASDS' 4700 members are recognized in the medical community as leaders in the field of dermatology and advocates for patient safety (from http://www.asds.net). In January 2006, the ASDS issued a warning about injection lipolysis, stating "No pharmaceutical preparation is licensed or FDA-approved for mesotherapy for anti-aging purposes or for the reduction of adipose tissue."
